Getting to Roslindale

Easily accessed by public transportation, car, or bicycle, Roslindale Village offers ample free on- and off-street parking and bike racks, with a thriving business district, abundant greenspace, and a range of community resources all within easy walking distance.

  • Roslindale is close to Route 128 and directly on the “Providence to Boston Turnpike,” or Washington Street
  • By car, Roslindale is less than twenty minutes from downtown Boston
  • By subway, Roslindale is within fifteen minutes of downtown Boston
  • By commuter rail, Roslindale is twelve minutes from downtown Boston
  • Roslindale Village is located approximately one mile from several other thriving business districts, including JP’s Centre/South neighborhood and West Roxbury’s Centre Street district.

Public Transportation

  • There are 14 MBTA bus lines traveling directly through Roslindale Village from Forest Hills Station and various outbound terminal points.
  • 32 incoming/outgoing commuter trains per day stop in Roslindale Village on the Needham Line, accessing Back Bay Station in 12 minutes and South Station in 15 minutes.
  • Roslindale Village is located one mile from Forest Hills Station on the T’s Orange Line, and is linked by public bus.

Car
Roslindale is accessible to points north and south via Washington St., points east and south via Cummins Highway, and points west via the West Roxbury Parkway.  Access a map of Roslindale and directions from specific locations on  GoogleMaps.

Bike
There are designated bike lanes on each of Roslindale’s main thoroughfares: Washington Street, South St., Corinth and Belgrade Aves.  Bike lanes provide direct access to bike paths on the Emerald Necklace, Southwest Corridor, Franklin Park, and Forest Hills Cemetery,  linking to the rest of Boston.   For more info on biking in and around Roslindale, contact RozzieBikes.

  • MBTA commuter lot (paid per day, free after 6 pm) – 143 spaces
