With new construction underway in the business district along with natural turnover of retail space, there are a number of exciting commercial spaces coming available around the neighborhood in the next few months. RVMS is available to provide information and support, from local networking to marketing and design assistance, to help prospective businesses open their doors in Roslindale Village.

We had more crafts vendors than ever at last week’s market! Cornell Coley’s Sugarfoot was beautiful and memorable; they played bongos and drums until the last vendors were packed up. They kept the RVMS tent breakdown team going as they loaded the van. And look out for Kasey Appleman’s Recycle Arts activities at the market in August; last week’s maracas were a hit!
Get ready for another stellar Saturday! Our farmers’ stands are piled high with zucchini, eggplant, crunchy green beans and tomatoes. And there are still berries to be found. Fun and funky vendors keep it goin’ with their products for all ages.

Earlier this month, visitors to the Farmers’ Market had the chance to visit with a volunteer at the Dreams & Ideas Chair, a spot set up for local residents to share their hopes and dreams for the neighborhood. Their thoughts are shared below. We’d love to hear your additions and comments – leave them here in the comments section or visit us at the market to share some of your ideas for what would make Roslindale a better place to live, work and shop.

Last week’s Ride Your Bike Day was a fantastic event, drawing cyclists from all over Boston for free tune-ups, valet bike parking, a family bike ride around Roslindale, and lots of info on biking in the city. Many thanks to RozzieBikes, the Boston Cyclists Union, Bikes Not Bombs, Ferris Wheels, and the many volunteers who helped make the day a success. Check out photos from the day on the RozzieBikes website.
This week at the Farmers’ Market you’ll be seeing our six farms more laden than ever with the summer harvest.
