This week at the Farmers’ Market: Ride Your Bike Day
Posted: July 6, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Beat the heat and come down to the market this weekend for Ride Your Bike Day! Co-sponsored with RozzieBikes and the Boston Cyclists Union, Ride Your Bike Day turns the market into a celebration of two-wheeling in Boston and beyond. Free bike valet parking, with $1 coupons for the first 40 bike visitors; a free bike mechanic stand provided by the BCU; and tons of info and activities focused on cycling in the city. A family bike ride will leave from the market at 1:30 – all ages and levels welcome. Don’t miss it!
In addition to all the bicycle madness, our farms are laden with local bounty as the summer unfolds. Native MA corn, string beans, blueberries, and some great new cheeses from Lawton’s Family Farm/Foxborough Cheese Company are among some of this week’s finds.
Featured vendors this week include:
- tasty dressings and BBQ sauces from Our Favorite Dressings of Dedham
- natural body products from Nancy’s Handmade Soap
- funky and hip kids’ duds from Pre-K Apparel
- photos and notecards by Liz Hughes Photography
- headbands and hair accessories by local artisan Karina Garcia
Kids’ musician Margot Fox will bring folk-rock singing and dancing fun for the whole family at 10 am, and The Beachcombovers will perform at 11 with surf rockin’ music for all ages.
