This week, RVMS Design Committee volunteers hosted a business networking breakfast with a presentation on “Design as a Marketing Tool: Simple, Affordable Ideas to Increase Sales, Attract New Customers and Build Street Appeal”.  About 25 local merchants attended the event at Cafe Rialto, networking with fellow business owners and discussing issues from storefront lighting to parking.  Read more

After years of planning by the RVMS design committee, an exciting new landmark will be greeting visitors to Roslindale Village, welcoming them to the neighborhood.  A three-sided kiosk at the intersection of Poplar and South Streets across from Adams Park, will offer visitors a detailed map of the neighborhood, business directory, and community events board, with colorful graphic signage to herald their arrival into the business district.  Read more

Roslindale diners may note some changes to a favorite neighborhood hangout, Geoffrey’s Cafe, in the near future.  After opening a new location in the Back Bay area where the restaurant originated, owners Michael Aplin and Brian Spencer relinquished their sublease of the Roslindale location and business to the original owner, Salute’s Beth McNichols.  McNichols, who also owns the Spring Street Cafe in West Roxbury, plans to reopen and maintain the Geoffrey’s Roslindale location.
