Fifty years have passed since the doors of the space age building of the Roslindale Branch Library opened to the public. In honor of the golden anniversary, The Friends and the Branch are hosting a birthday party full of activities for the whole family on September 16, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 4246 Washington Street in Roslindale. The entire community is invited.
A rededication ceremony with city officials, scheduled for 5:00 PM, will feature a ribbon cutting to announce a new era for the branch. According to Laura Gang, Friends President, “Our community is brimming with new ideas and energy for increasing programming and renovating the library. We seek to create regular volunteer programming and a beautiful physical environment that attracts residents to the books and services of our library.”
