The Roslindale Village Main Street Farmers’ Market will be held every Saturday from June 2 – October 27, 2012  in Adams Park, Roslindale’s picturesque village green, from 9 am to 1:30 pm.  We feature an average of twenty-five vendors weekly, selling a range of fresh produce, fruit, meat, honey, cheese, preserves, local baked goods and handcrafted items.  With live acoustic music and kids’ activities every week, the Farmers’ Market offers a vibrant community gathering spot throughout the summer.

The Roslindale Farmers’ Market is a proud participant in the Boston Bounty Bucks program, offering SNAP/EBT recipients double benefits – up to $10 per week – for purchases of fresh, locally produced food every week.  Visit the Roslindale Village Main Street tent to swipe your card and to learn more about the Bounty Bucks program.

Stay tuned to the Farmers’ Market throughout the season – join us on Facebook, follow us on sign up to receive email updates throughout the market season.

2011 was a year of extraordinary accomplishments in Roslindale Village, including the Egg Hunt, the Farmers’ Market, the Summer Stroll, A Taste of Roslindale, the Holiday Tree Lighting, Small Business Saturday, and the Holiday Wander.  And there’s more to come!  We’re looking forward to building on last year’s successes to create an even more vibrant and welcoming community in 2012.

Here’s a “sneak peek” at some of what’s coming up in the year ahead:

  • We’re working hard to diversify the district by supporting existing businesses and attracting new ones.
  • We’re eagerly anticipating the installation of “Traffic,” an art sculpture designed exclusively for Roslindale Village by George Greenamyer, at the corner of Belgrade and Corinth.
  • We’re working closely with the MBTA on a project that will illuminate the Robert Street Bridge, creating a stunning gateway into the district..

We look forward to sharing our progress on these and other initiatives in the months to come, and we invite you to participate in our efforts to enhance our shared community by shopping, dining, volunteering your time, or making a financial contribution to RVMS in 2012.  Thank you!

Thanks to all of the businesses, shoppers, and diners who are helping to make this year’s Holiday Wander such a success!  We are proud to have 31 businesses participating this year, in addition to traveling musicians, carolers, and gift wrapping, every Thursday through December 22.

Roslindale Village is also “decked out” for the holidays with a beautifully lit tree in Adams Park, festively decorated lamp posts throughout the district (courtesy of Roslindale Village Main Street), and cheerful store window displays (courtesy of more than 40 local businesses) throughout the district.

Show your support for local businesses by joining us for the final Wander of the season on Thursday, December 22nd.   Shop, dine, and celebrate!  See our schedule here.

Congratulations to everyone who participated! All the windows were outstanding! Over 300 votes were tallied the winners were determined!

Don’t miss the ‘last’ Harvest day this season with us in Roslindale this Saturday!  Our last market of the 2011 season will be an event  of many kinds: Davey the Clown will appear at 10:30am, and Mayor Menino, Councilor Rob Consalvo, and State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez will be present to help us celebrate!  Be prepared for Halloween in the air – and at the farmers’ stands!  Choose a perfect pumpkin and a pick of apples to chomp on while you shop, dance, and enjoy.

This is your last chance to get the exclusive Roslindale recipe cards from ‘Fresh in the Village’!  These beautiful hand-printed cards are available in sets of 5, or individually, and make a great gift or reference point in your kitchen.  They are coming out with a new poster this month!  Ask about it at the RVMS table.

Celebrate local food with us this Saturday, and thank your farmer:
Food at the Roslindale Farmers’ Market is from within 150 miles of the neighborhood: it comes from our Holliston, Needham, Wayland, Groton, Foxboro, Hyde Park, Brookline, or Milton farms, and from their neighboring farms within the same radius.

Vendors accept Boston Bounty Bucks, WIC and Senior coupons, and cash. If you would like to use your EBT card, please come to the RVMS tent at the center of the market to receive Boston Bounty Bucks. You can double your benefits up to $10 and receive Boston Bounty Bucks to spend at the market! (Swipe your card for $10, receive $20 to spend!)
