| Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. Roslindale Village Main Street sponsors the annual egg hunt in Adams Park (at intersection of Cummins Highway and Washington Street). Families are invited (egg hunt is for 6 and under) to participate in a number of fun activities.
There will be an arts & crafts table, face painting and games such as the parent/child egg toss. Our fabulous and much appreciated Rossie Reps, a youth group of the Healthy Roslindale Organization will be filling the park with colored eggs and helping out at the event. Thank You. Mayor Thomas Menino and other elected officials will be there and we expect the "Roslindale Bunny" to visit with the children. Please join us. The event is free. |

Roslindale residents are encouraged to attend a free workshop, "Healthy Trees, Healthy Neighborhoods: Identifying and inventorying street trees," offered by the Community Forest Partnership twice this spring: April 23 and May 7 This day-long training covers basics of tree identification using the Greater Boston Urban Forest Inventory's (GBUFI's) street tree inventory methods. ROSLINDALE PARADE AWARDS PRESENTATION DINNER The Roslindale Day Parade Committee will sponsor their annual awards presentation dinner on Friday evening, May 6th, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Roslindale Village. The event will feature a dinner, entertainment, performances, a silent auction, raffles, and presentation of awards for the best attractions from last year's parade. Tickets are $20 each and can purchased by calling (617) 325-3023 or at the door of the event. The proceeds will go to this year's 30th Anniversary Roslindale Day Parade on Sunday, October 2nd. The parade will honor Steve O'Malley and Brian Hardiman as Grand Marshals. | A Night Out in Roslindale First Fridays Art Exhibit Reception and Jazz in the Square Friday April 1st. Art reception by Dr. Paul Ning of his watercolor work at Olde Towne Real Estate, 18 Corinth Street. 6 p.m. Wine Tasting by Solera Wine of Roslindale and an international cheese tray by Olde Towne Real Estate and Linens by Alice. Art work arranged by It's All About Arts, Roslindale. On May 17th ABCD Southside of Roslindale will be sponsoring the 2nd Anual Roslindale Adult Literacy Day with a "Taste of Culture" that celebrates cuisine and entertainment from a variety of cultures. Last year's event was a wonderful day and the neighborhood's strong support was noticed around the city, evidenced by the fact that this year, the week of May 16-22 will be proclaimed by the Mayor as "Adult Literacy Week" in the city of Boston.
