Roslindale was definitely the place to be this past weekend. The Village was filled with the sounds of people enjoying a wide variety of events; RVMS Harvest Festival; RVMS Farmers Market; Roslindale Day Parade and the 1st Annual Open Studios.

Roslindale Village Main Street thanks all those who helped to make the weekend such a success. A special thanks to the Healthy Roslindale Rossie Reps who helped out during the Harvest Festival in Adams Park.

Volunteers are needed for the Cooperative Bank Trick or Treat Trot on October 29. This is the 8th RVMS annual fundraising event. If you can volunteer some time (between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.) please call Janice at 617-327-4065 or email at rossie@verizon.net. THANK YOU!

20th Anniversary Celebration
Tuesday, October 18, 2005   RVMS Annual Meeting
Look for your invitation to the RVMS Annual Meeting. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary. Mayor Thomas Menino (who gave us our start in 1985) will be attending. There will be refreshments and a cash bar.

Hermena Clark Award
 
On Thursday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. The Greater Roslindale Medical and Dental Center will award the Community Service Award to Mayor Thomas Menino.

Culture Events Coming up in Roslindale
 
First Fridays resumes on October 7. Roslindale Village Main Street, EDM Real Estate and It's All About Arts announces an exhibit opening at EDM Real Estate on Friday October 7 from 6-8 p.m. Local artist Sarah McKay Mertz will be featured. Jazz in the Square returns as part of First Fridays. Go to the exhibit reception and then enjoy a concert in the Village. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and features Featuring the Center Street Trio, with special guest and Roslindale resident: Bill Pierce

Franchise Show. As part of its efforts to expand the job market and create opportunities for neighborhood entrepreneurs, the City of Boston, through its Office of Business Development (OBD) and in collaboration with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), is co-sponsoring an expo that educates entrepreneurs about the franchise world as well as highlight prospective franchise opportunities in Boston on October 15th and 16th. The expo's program will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of owning a franchise, meet business lenders and make direct connect with a variety of national franchisors. This expo will also give us an opportunity to connect with local entrepreneurs and we will be developing a financing package to support qualified businesses wishing to open here in Boston. 8th Annual Cooperative Bank Trick or Treat Trot

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Cooperative Bank Trick or Treat Trot. The 5K race takes place this year on Saturday October 29. Race time is 10 a.m. $15 pre-race or $18 day of race.
