Thrifty Treasures
By Janice Williams

The saying, "One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure" explains the abundance of flea markets, thrift stores, yard sales and even eBay on the Internet. I am happy to announce the opening of Roslindale's very own thrift shop, called the Thrift Shop of Boston. Located at 15 Corinth Street (formerly Color Tyme), the shop offers a multitude of treasures and excellent bargains. The Thrift Shop of Boston is loaded with books, clothing, dishes, household items, jewelry, furniture, toys and art. Stop in and say hello to Peggy Pettaway, the store manager and her assistant Patti Volz. They are very friendly, very helpful and make the shopping experience very worthwhile.

The Thrift Shop of Boston has a very good reputation and has been in existence for over 76 years. They recently moved here from Jamaica Plain. The very best part of this business is that the profit from sales goes to a very worthwhile cause, The Home for Little Wanders.

The Home for Little Wanderers was formed on January 1, 1999, as a result of the merger between Boston Children's Services (founded in 1799) and The New England Home for Little Wanderers (founded in 1865). Throughout their histories, both of the former agencies have acted as leaders in providing new and innovative services for children and families in the Boston community. To learn more about the wonderful and important programs of The Home visit www.thehome.org

The Thrift Shop of Boston wants you to feel free to come in and browse their selections that change on a regular basis. Donations are also welcome.
