Volunteer Management

  • Manage volunteer recruitment and coordination, including scheduling and leading quarterly Volunteer Orientations.

  • Work with the ED and Events Manager to develop and implement yearly volunteer committee work plans.

  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Design and Economic Development committees, overseeing all committee projects, including seasonal plantings and neighborhood beautification, clean-ups, and quarterly workshops for local business owners.

  • Coordinate with the Events Manager to identify and fulfill volunteer needs for organization events.

  • Organize quarterly volunteer socials to strengthen and engage the volunteer community.

Small Business Support

  • Manage the ROSStore Sign Improvement Grant Program.

  • Maintain the vacancy page on the RVMS website.

  • Write and distribute the monthly Small Business Resource Newsletter.

Fundraising & Event Support

  • Support organizational event coordination.

  • Assist with grant applications on a project-by-project basis.

  • Support organizational fundraising efforts as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with the ED to fulfill sponsor marketing commitments.

  • Work with the ED to produce biannual donor appeals.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of volunteer coordination or program management experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with business owners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

  • Skill in content creation, including e-newsletters, photography, videography, and/or writing.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple dynamic tasks with attention to detail.

  • Experience with database management and platforms including Google Drive, Constant Contact, Wix, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).

  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and make the most of available tools.

  • Spanish language proficiency a plus.

Position Details & Benefits:

  • Term: Temporary, full-time role from approximately early September 2026 through February 2027 (~6 months), covering a staff member's family leave. Strong potential to extend or convert to a permanent position, with adjusted responsibilities, based on organizational needs and performance.

  • Compensation: Annual salary range of $60,000–$65,000, prorated for the length of the temporary term based on actual start and end dates.

  • Sick & vacation time: Accrued per RVMS policy for the duration of employment.
