The Roslindale Village Main Street Summer Farmers Market begins Saturday, June 1, and will run throughout the summer and fall until November 23, 2024.
On Opening Day, RVMS has an exciting entertainment lineup, including a demonstration from YMAA, Circus Up, Davey the Clown, music by Kina Zoré, and a visit from our local elected officials. Everyone comes out to celebrate the return of this neighborhood staple!
While you’re in Roslindale Village, be sure to check out the shopping opportunities with local businesses, including Birch Street House and Garden, Joanne Rossman: Purveyor of the Unnecessary & the Irresistible, Rozzie Bound, Weesh Bake Shop, Taupe and Teal Boutique, and The Square Root Cafe.
The RVMS Farmers Market is Boston’s most prominent neighborhood farmers market, with over 30 vendors and 3,000 customers weekly. Since the start of the market over 30 years ago, it has generated over $4 million in the local economy for local and regional vendors as well as Roslindale businesses. The RVMS Farmers Market is also a food access point for all. The market will continue to accept SNAP/HIP, WIC, and City of Boston farmers market coupons.
This year, Adams Park will be filled with new and returning vendors, as well as free programming, including wellness activities, live music performances, and engaging children’s activities. We are also continuing the Community Stall program, where local nonprofits and community groups can have a table free of charge to engage the community and share their mission. Additionally, to encourage local business participation, this year’s farmers market will continue to feature Roslindale Village businesses with low-fee booths, including Seymore Green and Create Art in Community.
“We can’t wait for the Summer Farmers Market to start back up. This season, we’re excited to bring new activities and entertainment to the market,” says RVMS Event Manager Steve Marcelin. “The Farmers Market is the place where residents meet up weekly to lounge in the grass, listen to music, and snack on fresh fruits & veggies together. It’s the energy of this community-gathering experience that brings people out year after year in Roslindale.”
RVMS expects around thirty vendors every Saturday ranging from traditional produce farmers, specialty farmers, local food producers, arts and crafts vendors, and local nonprofits. New partnerships and diverse entertainment will be featured this year along with children’s programming each week. This year’s activities will include interactive art projects, drum circles, a demonstration by Circus Up, puppet shows, storytime, and more.
The market will be open from 9:00am to 1:30pm every Saturday, rain or shine, through November 23 at Adams Park. Free parking is available at the municipal lot off South Street. We encourage everyone to join us and, if possible, walk, bike, and use public transportation when traveling to the market.
